Tools to stay in control
- Deposit limits. Every Irish-licensed bookmaker is required to offer daily, weekly and monthly deposit limits. Set them before you bet — not after.
- Time-out. Take a 24-hour, 7-day or 30-day break from your bookmaker account at any time. Most operators let you do this from the account settings.
- Self-exclusion. If you need a longer block, you can self-exclude for six months, one year or five years. GAMSTOP covers UK-licensed operators; for Irish operators, contact each bookmaker directly.
- Reality checks. Set up an in-session reminder that pops up every 30 or 60 minutes telling you how much you have staked.
Are you at risk? A quick check
If you find yourself answering “yes” to any of these, it is worth talking to someone:
- Are you betting more than you can afford to lose?
- Have you ever lied about how much you bet?
- Have you ever chased losses with a bigger bet?
- Has gambling affected your sleep, your work or your relationships?
How we try to help
Every calculator on this site is built to help you work out what your bet will actually return — before you place it. Knowing what you stand to win and lose is the first step to staying in control. We do not run any “sure tip” or “guaranteed winner” content. We do not display animated odds or fake urgency banners. If you ever see anything on this site that nudges you to bet more, please tell us — we will fix it.
